Hi, I’m Jennifer — one of the owners of Proof & Balance.

I’m a wife to my husband Kevin (he’s a nerd in the best possible way) and a mom to two boys, Gideon and Caleb. Our family has called Greenville and Winterville home for the past 20 years, and we truly love being part of this community.

I graduated from East Carolina University with a degree in accounting and bring more than 20 years of bookkeeping experience working with businesses across a wide range of industries. Over the years, I’ve become especially comfortable stepping into disorganized books, cleaning them up, and establishing processes that keep everything consistent moving forward.

Melissa Trevino

Co-Owner, Proof & Balance

Hi, I’m Melissa Trevino — one of the owners of Proof & Balance LLC.

I’m happily blended with my husband, Irl, and our three adult sons (Guillermo III, Evan, and Julian). We’ve recently stepped into the grandparent phase with our first grandson, Guillermo IV, who already shares his dad’s big personality and charm.

I earned my accounting degree from the University of Texas at San Antonio and bring nearly 25 years of experience in the accounting industry. My background includes property management and real estate accounting, as well as private equity and trust accounting, where I spent most of my career. I’ve also worked in joint venture and franchise accounting, giving me a strong understanding of the financial needs of growing businesses.

I enjoy working with business owners who value organization, transparency, and a reliable financial partner—keeping financials accurate and consistent so they can focus on running and growing their businesses. That passion led to the creation of Proof & Balance.
